APPLICABILITY.

This

Act

applies

to

actual

enrollment

determinations

for

school

budget

years

beginning

on

2

or

after

the

effective

date

of

this

Act.

EXPLANATION

this

agreement

with

the

members

of

the

general

assembly.

This

bill

modifies

provisions

related

to

the

determination

of

school

enrollment.

Code

section

257.6(1)(a)

provides

that

each

school

9

district’s

actual

enrollment

is

determined

annually

on

10

October

1,

or

the

first

Monday

in

October

if

October

1

falls

11

on

a

Saturday

or

Sunday.

The

bill

amends

methodology

for

12

determining

the

actual

enrollment

each

year.

Under

the

13

bill,

actual

enrollment

is

determined

annually

by

calculating

the

average

of

the

count

on

October

1,

or

the

first

Monday

in

October

if

October

falls

on

a

Saturday

or

Sunday,

and
