WHEREAS,

the

Animal

Rescue

League

of

Iowa

is

celebrating

the

100th

anniversary

of

their

founding

in

4

1926;

and

5

WHEREAS,

the

Animal

Rescue

League

of

Iowa

is

the

6

largest

nonprofit

animal

shelter

in

Iowa,

with

the

7

mission

to

protect

the

welfare

of

animals,

preserve

the

8

human-animal

bond,

and

prevent

the

overpopulation

of

9

companion

animals;

and

10

WHEREAS,

the

Animal

Rescue

League

of

Iowa

cares

for

11

more

than

13,000

companion

animals,

from

hamsters

to

12

horses,

from

across

the

state

each

year,

and

in

2025

13

returned

1,776

pets

to

their

owners

and

placed

a

record

14

9,244

pets

with

new

families;

and

15

WHEREAS,

the

Animal

Rescue

League

of

Iowa

offers

a

16

full

range

of

programs

including

low-cost

veterinary

17

services,

pet

behavior

training,

responsible

pet

18

ownership

education,

and

pet

food

pantries,

along

with

19

many

other

programs,

all

designed

to

help

animals

stay

with

the

families

who

love

and

care

for

them;

and

WHEREAS,

the

city

of

Des

Moines

and

other

central

Iowa

cities

and

counties

have

partnered

with

the

Animal

Rescue

League

of

Iowa

to

provide

animal

services

for

their

residents

since

2005;

THE

SENATE,

That

Senate

recognizes

honors

the

Animal

Rescue

League

of

Iowa

for

century

of

service

changing

lives

the
