WHEREAS,
2025
marks
the
250th
anniversary
of
the

founding
of
the
United
States
Army,
United
States
Navy,

and
United
States
Marine
Corps,
institutions
that
have

defended
our
nation’s
freedom
and
upheld
our
country’s
9
values
for
two
and
a
half
centuries;
and
10
WHEREAS,
the
state
of
Iowa
has
a
proud
and
storied
11
history
of
military
service,
with
generations
of
12
veterans,
active
duty
personnel,
and
military
families
13
making
invaluable
contributions
to
our
national
defense
14
and
the
security
of
our
communities;
and
15
WHEREAS,
We
the
Veterans
and
Military
Families
is
a
16
nonpartisan,
nonprofit
organization
created
by
veterans
17
and
military
family
members
to
empower
the
veteran
and
18
military
family
community
to
strengthen
America;
and
19
WHEREAS,
We
the
Veterans
and
Military
Families,
20
through
its
Military250
campaign,
seeks
to
honor
250
21
veterans
and
military
family
service
organizations,
22
recognize
250
leaders
who
continue
to
serve,
and
23
encourage
250
impactful
acts
of
service,
strengthening
24
civic
engagement
and
fostering
national
unity;
and

WHEREAS,
it
is
fitting
and
proper
to
recognize

and
celebrate
the
selfless
service
and
sacrifices
of

veterans
and
military
families,
who
have
demonstrated

unwavering
dedication,
patriotism,
and
courage
in

defense
of
our
great
nation;
and

WHEREAS,
the
state
of
Iowa
has
a
deep-rooted

serve

THEREFORE,

BE
IT
RESOLVED
BY
THE
SENATE,
That
the
Senate

recognizes
the
advocacy
work
of
We
the
Veterans
and

Military
Families
and
reaffirms
its
dedication
to

honoring
veterans,
strengthening
resources
for
military
9
families,
and
fostering
a
culture
of
service
that
10
encourages
all
citizens
to
contribute
to
the
well-being

of
their
communities
and
country.
