AN ACT concerning law enforcement; prohibiting certain agents of the
United States immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) from being
eligible for employment as a law enforcement officer in Kansas.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
Section 1. No former agent of the United States immigration and
customs enforcement (ICE) who was employed on or after January 20,
2025, shall be eligible to be a police officer or law enforcement officer as
those terms are defined in K.S.A. 74-5602, and amendments thereto,
within the state of Kansas. No state or local government law enforcement
agency shall hire any such former ICE agent.
Sec. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
publication in the statute book.
