AN ACT relating to hospital emergency departments. 1
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 2
SECTION 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 216B IS CREATED TO 3
READ AS FOLLOWS: 4
A hospital that offers emergency medical services shall have at least one (1) physician 5
who is: 6
(1) Licensed in Kentucky; 7
(2) Board certified or board eligible in emergency medicine; 8
(3) On site and on duty; and 9
(4) Responsible for the emergency department at all times the emergency department 10
is open. 11
