A JOINT RESOLUTION designating the Sean Robert King Share the Road 1
Memorial Highway in Lyon County. 2
WHEREAS, Sean Robert King was a devoted husband, loving father o f four 3
children, and cherished member of his community; and 4
WHEREAS, on May 24, 2023, Sean Robert King was tragically killed while riding 5
his bicycle on Kentucky Route 93, a loss that deeply affected his family, friends, and all 6
who knew him; and 7
WHEREAS, Sean Robert King was known for his kindness, his commitment to his 8
family, and his dedication to living an active and engaged life; and 9
WHEREAS, Sean Robert King's passing serves as a solemn reminder of the 10
importance of roadway safety and the shared respo nsibility of motorists and cyclists to 11
protect one another; and 12
WHEREAS, on December 11, 2025, the Lyon County Fiscal Court adopted a 13
Resolution supporting the designation of a portion of Kentucky Route 93 in honor of 14
Sean Robert King; 15
NOW, THEREFORE, 16
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 17
Section 1. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate a portion of Kentucky 18
Route 93 in Lyon County, from the intersection with Poplar Creek Road (mile point 19
18.239) to the intersection with Kentucky Route 819 (mile point 20.394) as the "Sean 20
Robert King Share th e Road Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of the 21
effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signage denoting this designation. 22
