A JOINT RESOLUTION designating the Gerald Combs Memorial Highway in Lee 1

WHEREAS, Gerald Dean Combs was born on May 22, 1945, to the late Alma 3
Patrick Combs and James Robert Combs in Greeley, Kentucky; and 4
WHEREAS, Gerald Combs spent his entire career working in the oil field industry 5
as a heavy equipment operator; and 6
WHEREAS, Gerald Combs had a deep love for his community and neighborhood, 7
and he is fondly remembered for his helping spirit; and 8
WHEREAS, Gerald Combs loved his large family and was a proud father, 9
grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather; and 10
WHEREAS, Gerald Combs departed these earthly bounds on November 5, 2024; 11
and 12
WHEREAS, Gerald Combs is survived by his loving wife, Vicky Townsend 13
Combs; his children, Adam Chambers, Geff Combs, Tonya Chambers Martin, and Leesa 14
Watkins; and his eight grandchildren, nine great -grandchildren, and one great -great-15
grandchild; and 16
WHEREAS, Gerald Combs is deeply missed by his family and community and his 17
memory is worthy of tangible recognition; 18
NOW, THEREFORE, 19
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 20
Section 1. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate a portion of Kentucky 21
Route 1036 in Lee County, from mile point 0.1 to mile point 6.5, as the "Gerald Combs 22
Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, 23
erect appropriate signage denoting this designation. 24
