A RESOLUTION recognizing April 2026 as Testicular Cancer Awareness Month 1
in Kentucky. 2
WHEREAS, testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer in men between 3
the ages of 15 and 35, but men of all ages can be at risk; and 4
WHEREAS, the American Cancer Society estimates that 9,810 men in the United 5
States will be diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2026, and approximately 630 men will 6
die from testicular cancer in 2026; and 7
WHEREAS, the rate of testicular cancer in Kentucky is 5.3 per 100,000 men; and 8
WHEREAS, testicular cancer is usually treatable if detected early, and early -stage 9
testicular cancer can be detected with self -examinations and regular visits to a heal thcare 10
provider; and 11
WHEREAS, educating the public and healthcare providers about the importance of 12
a healthy lifestyle and early detection of testicular cancer may reduce the rates of 13
mortality from the disease; and 14
WHEREAS, men who are educated about tes ticular cancer and conduct regular 15
self-examinations will go on to understand the value of preventive health care and will be 16
more likely to be proactive about their health by participating in health screenings; and 17
WHEREAS, men who have testicular cancer and are educated about the value of 18
early detection will be more likely to have the cancer detected when it is treatable; and 19
WHEREAS, Kentucky families and those with a stake in the health and wellness of 20
at-risk males are encouraged to increase their awareness of testicular cancer and the 21
importance of a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise, and medical checkups; 22
NOW, THEREFORE, 23
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the 24
Commonwealth of Kentucky: 25
Section 1. The House of Representatives hereby recognizes April 2026 as 26
Testicular Cancer Awareness Month in Kentucky. 27

Section 2. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a 1
copy of this Resolution to Representative Patrick Flannery. 2
