A RESOLUTION recognizing March 19, 2026, as Random Acts of Cody Kindness 1
Day in Kentucky, in honor of Cody Reeves Gollihue. 2
WHEREAS, Cody Reeves Gollihue was born in Morehead, Kentucky, on March 3
19, 1996, to Elliott and Lea Ann Reeves-Gollihue; and 4
WHEREAS, Cody possessed a unique quality to draw people in with his magnetic 5
smile, and from an early age he was a friend to everyone; and 6
WHEREAS, Cody went out of his w ay to extend kindness to friends and complete 7
strangers, believing that we are all created in God's image and should always be kind to 8
one another; and 9
WHEREAS, Cody, along with his younger sister, Ellie, worked as a dynamic duo to 10
plot ways in which to toss kindness into the world, including to animals, children, and the 11
elderly; and 12
WHEREAS, Cody believed it would only take one act of kindness to create a chain 13
reaction and turn the world into a kinder place; and 14
WHEREAS, after Cody passed away on May 26, 2017, his family, friends, and 15
community rallied to create Random Acts of Cody Kindness (RACK); and 16
WHEREAS, RACK was officially launched on May 30, 2017, and has since 17
become a global kindness movement that has been shared across social media platforms; 18
and 19
WHEREAS, RACK empowers Cody's family, friends, and people across the world 20
to perform an act of kindness on or around Cody's birthday, heaven date, and other days 21
of the year as a way to honor and remember Cody's kindness; and 22
WHEREAS, RACKs have been performed in all 50 states and in 127 countries, and 23
there are more than 74,000 RACK members; 24

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the 26
Commonwealth of Kentucky: 27

Section 1. The members of the House of Representatives hereby recognize 1
March 19, 2026, as Random Acts of Cody Kindness Day in Kentucky, in honor of Cody 2
Reeves Gollihue. 3
Section 2. When the House of Representa tives adjourns this day, it does so in 4
honor, recognition, and celebration of Cody Reeves Gollihue and his legacy of kindness. 5
Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a 6
copy of this Resolution to Representative Aaron Thompson for delivery. 7
