A JOINT RESOLUTION designating the Lt. Brian Hatt Memorial Highway in 1
Marion County. 2
WHEREAS, Brian Hatt served honorably as a volunteer firefighter with the 3
Raywick Fire Department, dedicating his life to the protection of the citizens of Marion 4
County; and 5
WHEREAS, throughout his career as a firefighter, Brian Hatt demonstrated 6
extraordinary courage, selflessness, and commitment to public safety; and 7
WHEREAS, on A ugust 25, 2025, Brian Hatt tragically lost his life in the line of 8
duty while responding to an emergency; and 9
WHEREAS, the entire community of Marion County was shocked and saddened by 10
the passing of Brian Hatt, and he is sorely missed and fondly remembere d by all who 11
knew him; and 12
WHEREAS, the Marion County Fiscal Court has adopted a Resolution requesting 13
that a memorial highway designation for Brian Hatt be approved by the General 14
Assembly as a permanent reminder of his service and sacrifice; 15
NOW, THEREFORE, 16
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 17
Section 1. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate a portion of Kentucky 18
Route 84 in Marion County, from the intersection with Kentucky Route 527 and 19
Broadway Street (mile point 5.25) to the intersection with Sallie Ray Pike (mile point 20
7.269), as the "Lt. Bri an Hatt Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of the 21
effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 22
