A RESOLUTION honoring the American College of Obstetricians and 1
Gynecologists on the occasion of its 75th anniversary and commending its members for 2
their dedication to improving the health of patients. 3
WHEREAS, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) 4
was founded in 1951 and, for 75 years, has advanced the health and well -being of 5
patients through excellence in clinical practice, education, advocacy, and research; and 6
WHEREAS, ACOG represents more than 62,000 health care professionals 7
nationwide, including 556 members in Kentucky, who provide essential obstetric and 8
gynecologic care to patients across the state; and 9
WHEREAS, ACOG and its member s in Kentucky have championed initiatives to 10
improve maternal health, protect the patient –physician relationship, and protect access to 11
health care for all individuals; and 12
WHEREAS, ACOG works to create a stronger, more sustainable practice 13
environment for obstetrician–gynecologists and their patients; and 14
WHEREAS, the 75th anniversary of ACOG offers an opportunity to recognize its 15
historic contributions and reaffirm our commitment to advancing the health of patients in 16
Kentucky; 17
NOW, THEREFORE, 18
Be it resol ved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 19
Kentucky: 20
Section 1. The Senate hereby honors the American College of Obstetricians and 21
Gynecologists on the occasion of its 75th anniversary and commends its members for 22
their dedication to improving the health of patients. 23
Section 2. T he Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 24
resolution to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as an expression 25
of appreciation for its service and leadership. 26
