A RESOLUTION recognizing February 25, 2026, as Labor Lobby Day at the State 1
Capitol. 2
WHEREAS, the labor movement has played an essential role in shaping the 3
economic, social, and civic foundations of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the 4
United States, advancing the dignity of work and the rights of working people; and 5
WHEREAS, generations of workers across the Commonwealth have organized, 6
advocated, and sacrificed to secure safer workplaces, fair wages, reasonable hours, and 7
protections that strengthen families and communities; and 8
WHEREAS, Kentucky's labor organizations continue to champion the values of 9
solidarity, democratic participation, and economic justice, e nsuring that working people 10
have a voice in the decisions that affect their livelihoods and futures; and 11
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the General Assembly recognize the 12
enduring legacy and ongoing contributions of the labor movement and honor th e workers 13
whose efforts sustain the Commonwealth each day; 14
NOW, THEREFORE, 15
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 16
Kentucky: 17
Section 1. The Senate hereby recognizes February 25, 2026, as Labor Lobby 18
Day, to honor the labor movement for its historic and continuing contributions to the 19
welfare, prosperity, and democratic strength of the Commonwealth. 20
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of the labor 21
movement and the working men and women of Kentucky whose service, sacrifice, 22
solidarity continue to move the Commonwealth forward. 23
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 24
Resolution to Senator Gary Clemons. 25
