WHEREAS, William "Will" Prebble Coomes was born on August 13, 2005, in 3
Louisville, Kentucky, to John and Kelly Foster Coomes; and 4
WHEREAS, Will Coomes was a young man of tremendous warmth, vitality, and 5
promise; and 6
WHEREAS, Will Coomes, a gifted basketball player who discovered the game at a 7
young age, would go on to dev elop a profound love for the sport, as well as a deep 8
appreciation for the bonds of brotherhood that it brought; and 9
WHEREAS, Will Coomes, an avid outdoorsman, lived for the weekends and loved 10
hunting with his father and brother; and 11
WHEREAS, Will Coomes's love for people, especially children, came at an early 12
age; and 13
WHEREAS, Will Coomes could make anyone laugh and his smile, his laugh, his 14
hug, and his genuine personality touched so many lives; and 15
WHEREAS, Will Coomes was a respected resident of Bardsto wn, Kentucky, and a 16
2024 graduate of Nelson County High School; and 17
WHEREAS, Will Coomes was a valued employee at DWE Electrical, alongside his 18
brother; and 19
WHEREAS, Will Coomes passed on January 30, 2026. He will be remembered 20
always by his devoted parents; brother, Andrew Coomes; cherished companion, Camryn 21
Hayes; paternal grandmother, Mary Patricia (John) Coomes Cecil; maternal grandmother, 22
Hudie Ann Foster; uncle, Ernie (Dina) Coomes, Jr.; aunts, Suzanne (Ted Shields) Edelen 23
and Billie Jean (David Jr.) Denny; many cousins; loyal friends, known as "The Boys"; 24
and a host of other family members, friends, and loved ones; 25
NOW, THEREFORE, 26
Be it resolved by the S enate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 27

Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby express their most profound 2
sympathy upon the passing of William "Will" Prebble Coomes. 3
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 4
memory of William "Will" Prebble Coomes. 5
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 6
Resolution to Senator Max Wise for delivery. 7
