A RESOLUTION honoring the Blueprint for Kentucky's Children and recognizing 1
Children's Advocacy Week 2026. 2
WHEREAS, every child in Kentucky deserves the chance to live in a thriving 3
community, have a strong family, and be a successful kid; and 4
WHEREAS, the Blueprint for Kentucky's Children is a coalition of nonprofit, 5
private, and public organizations committed to making Kentucky a great place to be a 6
kid; and 7
WHEREAS, the Blueprint for Kentucky's Children calls for policies that promote 8
thriving communities, strong families, and successful kids in order to create a prosperous 9
future for Kentucky; and 10
WHEREAS, Children's Advocacy Week was established 22 years ago as an effort 11
to raise the profile of children's issues among Kentucky's elected leaders; and 12
WHEREAS, Children's Advocacy Week recognizes steps taken by the General 13
Assembly to promote thriving communities, strong families, and successful kids; and 14
WHEREAS, g iving a voice to young people through Children's Advocacy Week 15
serves as a powerful vehicle, reminding us all that Kentucky's children are the key to a 16
sustained and prosperous future for the Commonwealth; 17
NOW, THEREFORE, 18
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 19
Kentucky: 20
Section 1. The Senate hereby acknowledges the Blueprint for Kentucky's 21
Children and honors it for its role in improving outcomes for the children of the 22
Commonwealth, and recognizes Children's Advocacy Week 2026. 23
Section 2. Whe n the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Children's 24
Advocacy Week 2026. 25
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 26
Resolution to Senator Brandon Smith for delivery. 27
