A RESOLUTION recognizing October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 1
Kentucky and acknowledging the contributions of Hope in the Fight KY. 2
WHEREAS, breast cancer re mains one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers 3
among women, and early detection, education, and emotional support are critical to 4
improving outcomes and strengthening families across the Commonwealth; and 5
WHEREAS, Hope in the Fight KY is a youth -founded nonprofit organization 6
dedicated to supporting individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment through 7
community-driven programs, including the distribution of "Pink Packs" containing 8
comfort items, encouraging notes, and informational resources; and 9
WHEREAS, Hope in the Fight KY also leads educational initiatives such as 10
"Debunk Wednesdays" to provide accurate information about breast cancer and reduce 11
misinformation, highlights survivor and fighter experiences through Story Spotlights, and 12
promotes community awareness through Hope Week each October; and 13
WHEREAS, the annual Hope in the Fight Pageant serves as a fundraising and 14
educational platform to engage the public, support patients, and promote breast cancer 15
awareness across Kentucky; and 16
WHEREAS, youth -led service initiatives like Hope in the Fight KY exemplify 17
leadership, compassion, and civic engagement providing tangible benefits to patients, 18
families, and communities; 19
NOW, THEREFORE, 20
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonw ealth of 21
Kentucky: 22
Section 1. The Senate hereby recognizes October as Breast Cancer Awareness 23
Month in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. 24
Section 2. The Senate acknowledges and commends the contributions of Hope 25
in the Fight KY for its dedication to s upporting individuals affected by breast cancer and 26
fostering education, awareness, and community engagement. 27

Section 3. The Senate encourages all Kentuckians to support early detection, 1
raise awareness, and participate in programs that provide emotional and practical support 2
to those affected by breast cancer. 3
Section 4. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 4
Resolution to Senator Julie Raque Adams for delivery to the Board of Directors of Hope 5
in the Fight KY. 6
