A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Michael 1
Mingey. 2
WHEREAS, Michael Mingey was born on May 26, 1998, and was a resident of 3
Boyle County, Kentucky, where he graduated from high school in 2017; and 4
WHEREAS, Michael Mingey possessed a true servant's heart and a steadfast love 5
for his community, volunteering for the Great American Brass Band Festival and the 6
local Barbecue Festival, where he joyfully gave his time and energy, always ready to lend 7
a helping hand; and 8
WHEREAS, actively engaged in local and political affairs, Michael Mingey was an 9
active member of the Boyle County Republican Party, once serving as youth chair. He 10
was known for b eing a great grassroots organizer who cared deeply about getting young 11
people involved in the political process; and 12
WHEREAS, Michael Mingey was proud to call Danville his hometown, and he was 13
very supportive of local law enforcement; and 14
WHEREAS, Michael Mingey was a warm and charismatic person who never met a 15
stranger. He was known for his smile, laugh, and kind heart, and wherever he went, he 16
would light up the room; and 17
WHEREAS, in addition to his love for his community and his interest in local and 18
political affairs, Michael Mingey loved watching, following, and rooting for the 19
Kentucky Wildcats; and 20
WHEREAS, above all, Michael Mingey cherished his family. He was a devoted 21
brother and son, whose kindness, laughter, and generous spirit were a constant so urce of 22
light. He is survived by his loving parents, William "Bill" and Lucinda Mingey, and by 23
his siblings, Seth William (Brianne) Mingey, DeAnne Grace (James) Berry, and Nichole 24
Grace (Elijah) Bower; and 25
WHEREAS, on the night of Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at approximately 9:30 p.m., 26
Michael Mingey's life was tragically cut short when his vehicle crashed into another 27

vehicle; and 1
WHEREAS, though his life on this earth was short, Michael Mingey's impact on his 2
family and community was monumental, and he will be remembered for his servant's 3
heart, the joy he brought into the lives of so many, and his enduring love of his family 4
and community; 5
NOW, THEREFORE, 6
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 7
Kentucky: 8
Section 1. The Senate extends its sincere condolences to the family, friends, and 9
fellow community members of Michael Mingey upon his passing. 10
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 11
memory of Michael Mingey. 12
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 13
Resolution to Senator Amanda Mays Bledsoe for delivery to the family. 14
