A RESOLUTION recognizing June 2026 as Fidelity Month. 1
WHEREAS, the National Opinion Research Center and the Wall Street Journal 2
found in an opinion poll that Amer ican support for traditional values, such as faith, 3
family, and patriotism are declining; and 4
WHEREAS, the principles of faith, family, and patriotism have long been seen as 5
crucial for the health of American society; and 6
WHEREAS, children who are raised i n a religious or spiritual environment are 7
better protected from illicit drugs and promiscuity; and 8
WHEREAS, children with a religious upbringing experienced greater happiness, 9
increased community involvement, a greater sense of mission and purpose, and hi gher 10
levels of forgiveness; and 11
WHEREAS, an abundance of research shows that children who grow up in married, 12
two-parent families are more likely to be employed, graduate from college, and are less 13
likely to be depressed, be sentenced for criminal activity , end up poor, or bear children in 14
their teens; and 15
WHEREAS, George Washington stated that, "Of all dispositions and habits which 16
lead to political prosperity, religion, and morality are indispensable supports"; and 17
WHEREAS, the cultivation of such virtues as fidelity to God, family, community, 18
and country leads to human flourishing and a healthy society; 19
NOW, THEREFORE, 20
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 21
Kentucky: 22
Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby recognize the month of June 2026 23
as Fidelity Month, for the purpose of rededicating Kentucky to the civic virtues of faith, 24
family, and patriotism. 25
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 26
Resolution to Senator Aaron Reed. 27
