A RESOLUTION designating January 6th, as Breaking Free With Ally Day. 1
WHEREAS, the safety, dignity, and well -being of children and vulnerable 2
individuals are fundamental responsibilities shared by our entire community; and 3
WHEREAS, grooming, childhood sexual abuse, and human trafficking are serious 4
crimes that cause profound and lasting harm to victims, families, and communities; and 5
WHEREAS, increasing public awaren ess, promoting prevention education, and 6
encouraging early intervention are essential steps in protecting children and preventing 7
exploitation; and 8
WHEREAS, Breaking Free With Ally is a nonprofit organization committed to 9
raising awareness about grooming, childhood sexual abuse, and human trafficking, 10
providing education and resources, and empowering individuals and communities to 11
recognize warning signs and take action to prevent exploitation; and 12
WHEREAS, community partnerships among families, educators, faith leaders, law 13
enforcement, service providers, and nonprofit organizations are critical in strengthening 14
prevention efforts and supporting survivors; and 15
WHEREAS, designating a day to recognize and support these efforts will 16
encourage open conversation s, education, prevention initiatives, and a unified 17
commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals; and 18
WHEREAS, Kentucky urges all residents to learn the signs of grooming and 19
exploitation, support prevention and awareness efforts, and wor k together to protect 20
children and vulnerable individuals from abuse and trafficking; 21
NOW, THEREFORE, 22
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 23
Kentucky: 24
Section 1. The Senate hereby designates January 6th, as Breaking Free With 25
Ally Day in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. 26
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 27
