A RESOLUTION recognizing and honoring Bob Quick upon his forthcoming 1
retirement as president and CEO of Commerce Lexington. 2
WHEREAS, Bob Quick was appointed as pre sident and CEO of the Greater 3
Lexington Chamber of Commerce in 2001 and guided the organization through a merger 4
of three organizations that would become Commerce Lexington; and 5
WHEREAS, Bob Quick has more than 39 years of experience in the chamber 6
profession. Bob Quick previously served as the president and CEO of the Metropolitan 7
Evansville, Indiana, Chamber of Commerce and as the Executive Vice President of the 8
Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce; and 9
WHEREAS, under Bob Quick's steady leadership and commi tment to 10
collaboration, Commerce Lexington has become one of the top chambers in the country, 11
receiving a multitude of awards, including the 2016 Chamber of the Year Award and Top 12
3 Chambers in 2014 and 2015 from the Association of Chamber of Commerce 13
Executives, Economic Development Organization of the Year by Business Facilities in 14
2024 and 2025, the 2022 Unity Award, and Top 20 Mac Conway Economic 15
Development Agency by Site Selection Magazine in 2018, 2020, and 2021; and 16
WHEREAS, Bob Quick has made a si gnificant achievement in building regional 17
collaboration efforts for the betterment of Lexington, with a renewed focus on giving 18
businesses a more effective voice and collaborating with government officials, faith 19
leaders, and educators to listen to their needs. His efforts were further recognized when 20
the Greater Lexington Region was named a top place for business and industry in 2023 21
and 2024 according to Site Selection Magazine's annual rankings of the top metros based 22
on economic development; and 23
WHEREAS, Bob Quick is a proud graduate of the University of Illinois at 24
Champaign-Urbana, and now resides in Lexington, where he and his wife Julie attend St. 25
John's Lutheran Church along with their three adult children, Kierstin, Andrew, and 26
Morgan, and two gra nddaughters, Wren and Lilja. In his spare time, he enjoys 27

participating in outside sports and reading political memoirs; and 1
WHEREAS, Bob Quick has contributed to the economic vitality and overall quality 2
of life in Lexington and the surrounding region; and 3
WHEREAS, Bob Quick is offered sincere commendation and gratitude for his years 4
of exemplary service and is extended best wishes for future success and good fortune as 5
he embarks upon a well-earned retirement; 6
NOW, THEREFORE, 7
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 8
Kentucky: 9
Section 1. The members of the Senate recognize Bob Quick's legacy for his 10
contributions to the economic vitality and his commitment to bettering Commerce 11
Lexington and the surrounding region. 12
Section 2. The members of the Senat e honor Bob Quick upon his forthcoming 13
retirement as president and CEO of Lexington Commerce on July 31, 2026, and wish him 14
and his family well. 15
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 16
Resolution to Senator Reginald L. Thomas for delivery. 17
