A RESOLUTION honoring Dave "Buzz" Baker for 37 years of exemplary service 1
as pre-game host for the UK Sports Network. 2
WHEREAS, Dave "Buzz" Baker has proudly serve d the University of Kentucky 3
and Wildcat fans across the Commonwealth as the voice of the pre-game show; and 4
WHEREAS, after 37 years of service, Dave "Buzz" Baker lent his voice to the 5
Wildcats for a final time on March 7, 2026, before the University of Ke ntucky men's 6
basketball team faced the University of Florida Gators at Rupp Arena in Lexington; and 7
WHEREAS, Dave "Buzz" Baker currently serves with WKYT -TV as Special 8
Projects Coordinator and Sportscaster and will continue to anchor "Everyday Kentucky" 9
and "The Afternoon Buzz" on WKYT and contribute sports stories and news updates 10
across multiple platforms throughout the week. He will mark his 44th year at WKYT at 11
the end of this April; and 12
WHEREAS, Dave "Buzz" Baker has served the basketball team, the uni versity, and 13
devoted UK fans, with tremendous warmth, expertise, and professionalism and has 14
contributed immeasurably to the Big Blue Nation throughout the years; 15
NOW, THEREFORE, 16
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 17
Kentucky: 18
Section 1. The members of the Senate, both individually and collectively, offer 19
Dave "Buzz" Baker a sincere commendation and gratitude for 37 years of exemplary 20
service as pre-game host for the UK Sports Network. 21
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Dave 22
"Buzz" Baker and extends best wishes to him for continued success and good fortune in 23
all his future endeavors. 24
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 25
Resolution to Senator Amanda Mays Bledsoe for presentation. 26
