A RESOLUTION honoring the Morehead State University men's basketball team, 1
2026 Ohio Valley Conference regular season champions. 2
WHEREAS, the Morehead State Univer sity (MSU) men's basketball team recently 3
completed a successful regular season in which they complied an overall record of 19 4
wins and 12 losses; and 5
WHEREAS, MSU enjoyed great success in Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) play, 6
amassing a record of 15 wins aga inst 5 losses, which earned the Eagles a share of the 7
OVC regular season championship; and 8
WHEREAS, the Eagles were led on the floor by senior guard George Marshall, 9
who led the team in scoring with an average of 13.8 points per game, and junior forward 10
Jon Carroll, who averaged 11.4 points per game and led the Eagles by averaging 7.9 11
rebounds per game; and 12
WHEREAS, other members of the Eagles included seniors Jacob Wilson, Anouar 13
Mellouk, and Tamaury Releford; junior Davion Cunningham; sophomores Josiah 14
LeGree, Chase Dawson, and Tyonne Farrell; and freshmen Vince Dawson III, Jarvis 15
Wright, Jace Winkleman, Jaden Priester, and Clayton Parker; and 16
WHEREAS, the Eagles were coached by Head Coach Jonathan Mattox, who, in his 17
second season, led MSU from a .500 rec ord in conference last year to this year's regular 18
season championship; and 19
WHEREAS, other coaches for the Eagles included Associate Head Coach Jason 20
Taylor and assistants Ky Klingsick, Bryan Sherrer, Ben Sisson, and John Tedesco; and 21
WHEREAS, the commitme nt, dedication, and achievements of this outstanding 22
group of young men are indeed worthy of public recognition; 23
NOW, THEREFORE, 24
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 25
Kentucky: 26
Section 1. The members of the Senate join Senator Robin Webb in 27

congratulating the Morehead State University Eagles men's basketball team and Head 1
Coach Jonathan Mattox upon winning the Ohio Valley Conference regular season 2
championship, saluting the team's dedication and commitment to excellence, and wishing 3
all team members and coaches good fortune in all future endeavors. 4
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate shall transmit a copy of this Resolution to 5
Senator Robin Webb for presentation to the team. 6
