WHEREAS, Vinita Winters was born April 9, 1947, and was an esteemed resident 3
of Murray, Kentucky; and 4
WHEREAS, Vinita Winters was the daughter of the late George and Alma Vinita 5
Bell; and 6
WHEREAS, Vinita Winters was a servant of God through her faithful membership 7
of the First United Methodist Church in Murray; and 8
WHEREAS, Vinita Wint ers was the loving and beloved wife of Dan Winters in a 9
blessed marital union which spanned almost six decades; and 10
WHEREAS, Vinita Winters was known in her community to be an avid 11
homemaker, being an active member of the Friendship Homemakers Club, wherei n she 12
was honored with the distinction of being chosen Homemaker of the Year in 2023; and 13
WHEREAS, Vinita Winters enjoyed nature, being a floral enthusiast and a frequent 14
fishing companion with her husband; and 15
WHEREAS, Vinita Winters was a well -known spor ts fan, supporting Cardinal 16
Baseball and Murray State Basketball, and especially supporting some of her favorite 17
sports players, including her grandsons; and 18
WHEREAS, Vinita Winters was the loving and beloved mother of Michael Winters 19
(Janeen) and Leigh Ann Winters; and 20
WHEREAS, Vinita Winters was the proud grandmother of Curtis Winters, Allie 21
Winters, and Colin Winters; and 22
WHEREAS, Vinita Winters was the prou d great -grandmother of Ella, Anistyn, 23
Ava, and Bodie Alan Winters; and 24
WHEREAS, Vinita Winters passed from this Earthly life to join her Heavenly 25

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwea lth of 1
Kentucky: 2
Section 1. The Senate expresses its most profound sense of sorrow and extends 3
its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends upon the passing of Vinita Winters. 4
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in l oving memory and 5
honor of Vinita Winters. 6
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 7
Resolution to Senator Jason Howell for presentation. 8
