A RESOLUTION honoring the Murray High School Tigers boys' soccer team, 1
2025 Kentucky 2A soccer champions. 2
WHEREAS, the Kentucky 2A Championships were established i n 2018 to 3
encourage statewide interscholastic athletic competition between schools whose 4
enrollments were too large to compete in the All A Classic, but had fewer than 1,000 5
students; and 6
WHEREAS, the 2A Championships held their first boys' soccer tourname nt in 7
2021; and 8
WHEREAS, on September 14, 2025, at Steele Stadium on the campus of Kentucky 9
Wesleyan College, the Murray High School Tigers defeated Rowan County High School 10
by a score of 4-0 to win the 2025 Kentucky 2A State Soccer Championship; and 11
WHEREAS, highlights for the Tigers in the championship game included two goals 12
from senior midfielder/forward Kellen Crouch, one of which was off an assist from 13
senior Drew Foley; and two goals from junior Brodie Morris, both of which came off 14
assists from senior Brady Burkeen; and 15
WHEREAS, other members of the Tigers included seniors Hank Fronza and 16
William Robinson; juniors Anderson Compton, Liam Edwards, Tyce Gibson, Elias 17
Houck, Paxton Mastera, Cole Morris, Liam Sykes, and Micah Wyatt; sophomores Henri 18
Acreman-Nyamwala, Ethan Carson, Caleb Haynes, Taft Leatherwood, Cooper Morris, 19
Knox Poynor, Oliver Rosa, William Ryan, and Eli Wallace; and senior manager Jackson 20
Stiff; and 21
WHEREAS, the victory in the championship game was one of many highlights on 22
the season for the Tigers, who finished the season with a record of 20 wins, 1 loss, and 1 23
tie, averaged over 4.3 goals per game, and shut out their opponents in 12 of their 22 24
matches; and 25
WHEREAS, the Tigers were coached by Jared Rosa, who, in nine seasons as head 26
coach at Murray, has won over 150 games; and 27

WHEREAS, the 2025 Murray Tigers exhibited the dedication, discipline, and 1
teamwork required by "the beautiful game" and are indeed worthy of public recognition; 2
NOW, THEREFORE, 3
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 4
Kentucky: 5
Section 1. The members of the Senate join Senator Jason Howell in 6
congratulating the Murray High School Tigers and Head Coach Jared Rosa upon winning 7
the Kentucky 2A Boys' State Soccer Championship, saluting their outstanding play, and 8
wishing all of the team members and coaches good fortune in all future endeavors. 9
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate shall transmit a copy of this Resolution to 10
Senator Jason Howell for presentation to the team. 11
