A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Carolyn 1
Greenwell Haydon and Joseph "Jodie" Albert Haydon. 2
WHEREAS, Carolyn a nd Jodie Haydon were born in Bardstown and were 3
cherished residents of the city, Carolyn being the daughter of James Bernard "Jimmy" 4
Greenwell and Verna Mae Greenwell, and Jodie Haydon being the son of Joseph Albert 5
and Leona Isabelle Blanford Haydon; and 6
WHEREAS, Carolyn Haydon graduated from Bethlehem High School and 7
Edgecliff College, and Jodie Haydon graduated from St. Joseph Preparatory School and 8
Bellarmine College; and 9
WHEREAS, Carolyn and Jodie Haydon were bonded in holy matrimony, a sacred 10
and loving bond that would continue throughout their lives; and 11
WHEREAS, Carolyn and Jodie Haydon were guided deeply by their faith as 12
members of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Parish of which it is a part; 13
and 14
WHEREAS, Carolyn Haydon was known for her warmth, kindness, and generosity 15
of her time and considerable talents, and Jodie Haydon was known for his leadership and 16
public service, was an active member of the Army National Guard, a member of the Sons 17
of Bardstown in the 138th Field Artillery, Ba ttery C, and survived the pivotal attack on 18
Firebase Tomahawk during the Vietnam Conflict, served as a Kentucky State 19
Representative, and was a member of many organizations such as the Kentucky Lottery 20
Commission, Bardstown City Council, Knights of Columbu s, and Flaget Memorial 21
Hospital; and 22
WHEREAS, Carolyn and Jodie Haydon lived for their family and relished their 23
manifold friendships; and 24
WHEREAS, Carolyn and Jodie Haydon are survived by their children, Allison 25
Haydon (Chris) Osborne, and Amy Haydon Pehl ke, and grandchildren, Caroline, 26
Christopher (Amy Luu), Haydon, Nicholas, and Miller Osborne, and Amelia and Hilary 27

Pehlke; and 1
WHEREAS, Carolyn Haydon was the loving and beloved sister of the late James 2
Bernard "Jim" Greenwell and Joseph Ignatius Greenwell; and 3
WHEREAS, Jodie Haydon was the loving and beloved brother of Mary Florence 4
Barnes, Norma Jean (Ben Barber) Haydon, Steve ( Carole) Haydon, Cathey Greer, 5
Charlotte (John) Bickel, John (Mary Ellen) Haydon, and Paul (Umaara) Haydon) as well 6
as the late James Gregory Haydon, Charles David Haydon, and Sherry Haydon Bruce; 7
and 8
WHEREAS, Carolyn Haydon passed from this life on November 23, 2025; and 9
WHEREAS, Jodie Haydon passed from this life on November 24, 2025; and 10
WHEREAS, while the passing of Carolyn Haydon and Jodie Haydon will deeply 11
affect their family and friends, it may be affirmed that their lives, lived with love, 12
generosity, commitment, care, devotion to their faith and family, and service will 13
reverberate and resonate within the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing 14
them and throughout the community of which they were proud to be a part; 15
NOW, THEREFORE, 16
Be i t resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 17
Kentucky: 18
Section 1. The Senate expresses its most profound sympathy upon the passing 19
of Carolyn and Jodie Haydon and extends heartfelt condolences to their family, friends, 20
and community. 21
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 22
memory of Carolyn and Jodie Haydon. 23
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 24
Resolution to Senator Jimmy Higdon for delivery to the family. 25
