A RESOLUTION honoring the Piner Elementary School archery team for winning 1
the 2026 Kentucky National Archery in the Schools Program 3D state championship. 2
WHEREAS, on March 14, 2026, the Piner Elementary School archery team 3
competed in the Kentucky National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) state 3D 4
tournament and won first place with an impressive score of 1529; and 5
WHEREAS, this victory reflects the diligent effort and unwavering commitment of 6
the young archers throughout the season; and 7
WHEREAS, the team consistently performed well in both 3D and Bullseye 8
competitions throughout the season, winning several local tournaments; and 9
WHEREAS, at the Walton -Verona High School "Thwackdown" tournament, the 10
Piner Elementary School archery team achieved a season -high score of 3003 in Bullseye, 11
which marked the team as one of only seven Kentucky elementary schools to hit the 12
3000-point milestone during the season; and 13
WHEREAS, these victories provided the confidence and momentum needed for the 14
team to rise to the occasion and take home the state title; and 15
WHEREAS, the Piner Elementary School archery team has had a long history of 16
prior successes leading up to their 2026 NASP state tournament win; and 17
WHEREAS, since 2010, the team has appeared in 13 of the past 16 Bullseye state 18
tournaments; and 19
WHEREAS, the most recent victory of the team in securing the state championship 20
highlights their long tradition of achievement and the dedication of the coaches and 21
student archers; and 22
WHEREAS, the 2026 Piner Elementary School archery team is composed of 29 23
student archers and five coaches, who, through their combined effort, accomplished many 24
impressive feats throughout the season and secured the state title at the 2026 NASP 3D 25
state tournament; 26

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 1
Kentucky: 2
Section 1. The Senate hereby honors the Piner Elementary School archery team 3
for winning the state championship. 4
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit 34 copies of this 5
Resolution to Senator Matt Nunn for p resentation to each team member and each coach 6
of the Piner Elementary School archery team. 7
