WHEREAS, Leigh Caroline Reed was born on October 2, 1998, to Jim and Sharon 3
Reed; and 4
WHEREAS, Leigh Caroline Reed graduated from Marion County High School in 5
2017 as a Governor's Scholar; and 6
WHEREAS, Leigh Caroline Reed lettered in volleyball, started a prayer group, and 7
created a local Christian radio show with her father called Sunday Morning Harvest; and 8
WHEREAS, Leigh Caroline Reed attended Western Kentucky University, where 9
she was accepted into the Mahurin Honors College and graduated with a bachelor's 10
degree in biology with a minor in chemistry; and 11
WHEREAS, Leigh Caroline Reed cont inued her education at the University of 12
Louisville School of Dentistry; and 13
WHEREAS, Leigh Caroline Reed was set to graduate in May 2025 with a 14
Doctorate of Dental Medicine, which her family accepted on her behalf; and 15
WHEREAS, as a dual member of Muldrau gh Hill Baptist Church in Lebanon and 16
Highview Baptist Church in Louisville, Leigh Caroline Reed made her faith journey and 17
relationship with Christ her central focus. She went on several mission trips to 18
Guatemala, Ecuador, and Belize; and 19
WHEREAS, Leigh Caroline Reed went home to be with her Savior on April 16, 20
2025, at the age of 26 years; and 21
WHEREAS, Leigh Caroline Reed was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Pat 22
Reed and Willard Farmer; and 23
WHEREAS, Leigh Caroline Reed is survived by her parents; her siblings, Patrick 24
and Kaylee Elizabeth Reed; her grandmothers, Judy Farmer and Peggy Reed; and 25
numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; 26

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 1
Kentucky: 2
Section 1. The Senate expresses its most profound sympathy upon the passing 3
of Leigh Caroline Reed and extends heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and 4
community. 5
Section 2. Wh en the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 6
memory of Leigh Caroline Reed. 7
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 8
Resolution to Senator Jimmy Higdon for delivery to the family. 9
