A RESOLUTION recognizing April 18, 2026, as National Lineworker 1
Appreciation Day. 2
WHEREAS, the men and women who serve as utility lineworkers build and 3
maintain electric power, telephone, cable television, and fiber optic lines; and 4
WHEREAS, lineworkers are often first responders during storms and other 5
catastrophic events, working to make the scene safe for other public safety heroes; and 6
WHEREAS, to keep electric ity flowing, lineworkers work with thousands of volts 7
of electricity high atop powerlines 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; and 8
WHEREAS, lineworkers must often work under dangerous conditions far from 9
their families to construct and maintain the energy infr astructure of the Commonwealth; 10
and 11
WHEREAS, lineworkers put their lives on the line every day with little recognition 12
from the community regarding the danger of their work; 13
NOW, THEREFORE, 14
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Common wealth of 15
Kentucky: 16
Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby express, on behalf of their 17
constituents, their sincere appreciation for the important work of the lineworkers of Duke 18
Energy, Kentucky Power Company, and Louisville Gas and Electric and Kentucky 19
Utilities Company, on t he occasion of National Lineworker Appreciation Day, April 18, 20
2026. 21
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor, recognition, 22
and celebration of Kentucky's utility lineworkers. 23
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 24
Resolution to Senator Amanda Mays Bledsoe for delivery to the appropriate parties. 25
