A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Lorrie 1
Anne Parker. 2
WHEREAS, Lorrie Anne Cash Parker was born in Frankfort, Kentucky, on 3
December 18, 1960, the second daughter of David F. and Rita Jone Cash; and 4
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker gave her heart and soul to Jesus while attending Bible 5
Camp at Levi Jackson State Park in London, Kentucky, a place that nurtured her faith and 6
meant a great deal to her growing up; and 7
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker was baptized and worshipped with her family at 8
Providence Church of Christ, where Jesus, her Lord and Savior, developed within her a 9
compassionate heart and a calling to be of service to others; and 10
WHEREAS, Lorri e Parker vividly recalled hearing a sermon regarding the 11
devastation of the abortion of children in the womb; and 12
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker became very passionate about defending and protecting 13
the unborn, leading her to work wherever she could with groups like Passion for Life; and 14
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker served on the Board of Right to Life of Central 15
Kentucky for 28 years, serving two terms as Chapter president and one term as vice 16
president of Kentucky Right to Life of Louisville; and 17
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker helped establish the Kentucky Memorial for the Unborn 18
located in the historic Frankfort Cemetery overlooking the State Capital, most recently 19
serving as chair of the Memorial Committee; and 20
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker especially wanted young people to visit the memorial 21
and learn about its importance; and 22
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker was a graduate of Rockcastle County High School, 23
Class of 1978, and Union College in Barbourville, Class of 1982; and 24
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker went to work in the offices of Gray Construction 25
Company in Lexington, and later worked as a legal secretary for Stites & Harbison, also 26
in Lexington; and 27

WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker had a desire to influence state policy and became active 1
in campaigns for Republican candidates; and 2
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker became special assistant of Congressman Ernie Fletcher 3
following his election, and she worked for a time with the legal team for Governor 4
Fletcher's administration; and 5
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker left the Fletcher administration to dedicate more time to 6
her Right to Life work, and she later served as office manager for Governor Matt Bevin; 7
and 8
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker never failed to greet her colleagues with her wonderful 9
smile or offer life, wisdom, and prayer when they were most needed; and 10
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker always encouraged others to continue to serve the Lord 11
at all costs and reminded them often that the Lord lifts us up with perfect timing; and 12
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker was a beloved and f aithful member of Porter Memorial 13
Church in Lexington, Kentucky, at the time of her passing; and 14
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker, alongside her husband, Steve, taught and shepherded 15
the Adult Singles Sunday School Class for over 20 years; and 16
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parke r is survived by her husband of 25 years, James "Steve" 17
Parker; one sister, Allison (Roger) Reynolds; one nephew, Jason (Ashley) Reynolds; one 18
niece, Loren Reynolds; one great -niece, Trinity Reynolds; three aunts, Jennie (Jackie) 19
Payne, Judy Carter, and Ma bel Cash; brother-in-law, Jeff (Bonnie) Parker; sisters -in-law 20
Susan (Ed) Wright and Sharon Parker; along with many cousins, organization and 21
professional associates, and good friends; and 22
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker was preceded in death by her parents; her pa ternal and 23
maternal grandparents, Edgar and Elizabeth Ellen Cash and John Ephraim and Addie 24
Edith Harris; her paternal and maternal great -grandparents, Frank and Joan Cash and 25
Henry Ed and Effie Jones; and 26
WHEREAS, Lorrie Parker went to be with the Savior she loved on February 25, 27

2026, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky following an illness of several 1
weeks; 2
NOW, THEREFORE, 3
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 4
Kentucky: 5
Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby express their most profound 6
sympathy upon the passing of Lorrie Anne Parker. 7
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 8
memory of Lorrie Anne Parker. 9
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 10
Resolution to Senator Amanda Mays Bledsoe for delivery to the family. 11
