A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Jessica 1
Patton Rudy. 2
WHEREAS, Jessica Patton Rudy was born on September 3, 1983, in Louisville, 3
Kentucky; and 4
WHEREAS, Jessica Patton Rudy was a warm person with a contagious smile – a 5
kind soul who made everyone feel welcome; and 6
WHEREAS, Jessica Patton Rudy's professional career was working in 7
administration for the United States Army Corps of Engine ers. Possessed of a true 8
servant's heart, her true passion was for serving others. Hearing the cries of the needy, 9
she answered the call through her volunteer work with Hope Unlimited, an organization 10
dedicated to supporting women through unplanned pregnan cies, and Beyond Uganda, 11
which works to strengthen communities through empowering women, advancing 12
education, and restoring families in Uganda. She loved Jesus deeply and committed 13
herself to living a Christian life as a faithful member of Heartland Church; and 14
WHEREAS, Jessica Patton Rudy met people exactly where they were and loved 15
them unconditionally, sharing her boundless compassion and generous spirit with all; and 16
WHEREAS, while Jessica Patton Rudy gave so much of herself to others, her 17
greatest devo tion was to her family – especially her daughter, Maddie, for whom she 18
created a childhood filled with magic, meaningful experiences, and unconditional love; 19
and 20
WHEREAS, in her spare time, Jessica Patton Rudy liked going to the beach, 21
lounging with her fr iends around the pool, Lyon County basketball, and quiet moments 22
with Maddie; and 23
WHEREAS, on March 18, 2026, Jessica Patton Rudy departed this world at age 42; 24
and 25
WHEREAS, Jessica Patton Rudy is survived by her husband of 20 years, Steven 26
Rudy; her daughter, whom she adored, Maddie Sue Rudy; her parents, Jackie and Vicki 27

Patton; her twin brother, Josh Patton; her father and mother -in-law, Jack and Jeanette 1
Rudy; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and 2
WHEREAS, though her life was cut short, Jessica Patton Rudy's profound legacy to 3
her family and friends will never be forgotten, and she will be remembered for her 4
servant's heart, her kind and wel coming presence, and her unmatched capacity to love 5
others unconditionally; 6
NOW, THEREFORE, 7
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 8
Kentucky: 9
Section 1. The Senate extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends 10
of Jessica Patton Rudy upon her passing. 11
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 12
memory of Jessica Patton Rudy. 13
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 14
Resolution to Senator Danny Carroll for delivery to the family. 15
