A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Brian Jay 1
Hatt. 2
WHEREAS, Brian Jay Hatt was an esteemed resident of Raywick, Kentucky; and 3
WHEREAS, Brian Jay Hatt was the loving and beloved husband of Tonya Hatt; and 4
WHEREAS, Brian Jay Hatt was the loving and beloved father of Austin (Katie) 5
Hinshaw, Autumn Hatt, and Alayna Willson, and the loving and beloved grandfather of 6
Evelyn Willson and Jaycee Hinshaw; and 7
WHEREAS, Brian Jay Hatt answered the call to service to his country and was a 8
proud member of the United States Army; and 9
WHEREAS, Brian Jay Hatt also answered the call for service to his community, 10
serving with honor and distinction as a lieutenant with the Raywick Fire Department; and 11
WHEREAS, Brian Jay Hatt was universally known for his quick wit, being a man 12
of conscious action by helping those in need, and for his compassion to all; and 13
WHEREAS, Brian Jay Hatt passed from this life on Au gust 25, 2025, when while 14
on route to assist a fellow fire department on a fire call, the tanker truck he was driving 15
was involved in a serious accident; 16
NOW, THEREFORE, 17
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 18
Kentucky: 19
Section 1. The Senate expresses its most profound sympathy upon the passing 20
of Brian Jay Hatt and extends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and 21
community. 22
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 23
memory of Brian Jay Hatt. 24
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 25
Resolution to Senator Jimmy Higdon for delivery to the family. 26
