WHEREAS, Charles William "Mickey" Kennedy was born on October 17, 1939, to 3
William Edward Kennedy, Sr., and Macie Smith Kennedy, who preceded him in death; 4
and 5
WHEREAS, Mickey Kennedy was educated in the Jefferson County Public School 6
system and graduated from Central High School in 1957; and 7
WHEREAS, Mickey Kennedy proudly serv ed his country in the United States 8
Army as a military policeman; and 9
WHEREAS, Mickey Kennedy loved the Lord, and was deeply involved in his 10
beloved church, Stoner Memorial AME Zion, where he took on many volunteer 11
positions; and 12
WHEREAS, Mickey Kennedy en joyed many hobbies including motorcycle riding, 13
photography, fitness, upholstery, and bowling; and 14
WHEREAS, Mickey Kennedy deeply loved his family, including his brother, 15
Edward Kennedy, Jr., and sister, Macie Nanette Becker, who preceded him in death, and 16
his surviving family members including his wife, Dorothy; his children, Roderick 17
"Waynie" (Daphne) Jones; and Andra "Neecie" Carroll; siblings, Lula (William) Howard; 18
Kenneth (Elsie) Kennedy; Kathryn Wallace; Margie (William) Wilson; and Eva (Jim) 19
Green; grandchildren, Alyssia Jones, Ashley Jones, Tyler (Brittany) Carroll, and Julian 20
Carroll; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and 21
WHEREAS, Charles William Kennedy passed from this earthly life on December 22
3, 2025, to the sweet embrace of his Lord; and 23
WHEREAS, Charles William Kennedy will be fondly remembered for the many 24
contributions he made to his country, community, and family, and will be deeply missed 25
by all those who knew him. 26

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 1
Kentucky: 2
Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby express their most profound 3
sympathy upon the passing of Charles William Kennedy and extend heartfelt 4
condolences to his family, friends, and community. 5
Section 2. When the Senate adj ourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 6
memory of Charles William Kennedy. 7
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 8
Resolution to Senator Gerald Neal for delivery to the family. 9
