Renee Franks Baker. 2
WHEREAS, Michele Renee Franks Baker was born on November 30, 1967, in 3
Hazard, Kentucky, to the late John Foster Franks and Barbara Sue Franks; and 4
WHEREAS, Michele Baker graduated from Hazard Community College in 1987 5
and from Eastern Kentucky University in 1990, pursuing a career in education; and 6
WHEREAS, Michele Baker was employed by the Perry County School System as a 7
teacher, a career from which she retired; and 8
WHEREAS, Michele Baker's greatest joys in life were her two sons, Derrick and 9
Noah, and her beloved Ragdoll cats, Izzy, Nora, and Sparky, the latter of which ga ined 10
his angel wings in 2021; and 11
WHEREAS, Michele Baker loved her family more than anything else in the world; 12
and 13
WHEREAS, Michele Baker is survived by her husband, Ricky Baker; mother, 14
Barbara Sue Franks; sons, Derrick Ethan (Taylor) Baker and Jonathan Noah Baker; sister, 15
Stephanie Franks Ritchie; nephews, Cody, Jonathan, Dakota, and Buddy; nieces, Kaeley, 16
Lillie, and Teresa; and a host of other family and friends; 17
NOW, THEREFORE, 18
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 19
Kentucky: 20
Section 1. The Senate expresses its most heartfelt sympathy upon the passing of 21
Michele Renee Franks Baker and extends heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, 22
and community. 23
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, i t does so in honor and loving 24
memory of Michele Renee Franks Baker. 25
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 26
Resolution to Senator Brandon Smith for delivery to the family. 27
