Lou Rasnick. 2
WHEREAS, Bobbie Lou Rasnick was born on December 25, 1929, to William 3
Harrison and America Ratliff Goff in Williamson, West Virginia; and 4
WHEREAS, Bobbie Lou Rasnick was a 1947 graduate of Elkhorn City High 5
School and was salutatorian of her class; and 6
WHEREAS, Bobbie Lou Rasnick was a devoted member of Pikeville United 7
Methodist Church and served as church treasurer for decades; and 8
WHEREAS, Bobbie Lou Rasnick was known throughout her community for her 9
lifelong passion for learning, traveling, and being outdoors; and 10
WHEREAS, Bobbie Lou Rasnick worked as a bookkeeper for a number of local 11
businesses, including First National Bank and Chrisman Insurance and was an avid 12
advocate for the City of Pikeville and the state of Kentucky. Bobbie Lou Rasnick broadly 13
served community over the years; and 14
WHEREAS, following her retirement in 1994, Bobbie Lou Rasnick began traveling 15
the nation and the world seeing and experiencing different locations and cultures; and 16
WHEREAS, Bobbie Lou Rasnick was known for her passion towards conservative 17
causes which led her to serve as treasurer of the Pik e County Republican Women's Club; 18
and 19
WHEREAS, Bobbie Lou Rasnick was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur 20
Blake "Shorty" Rasnick in 1975, and leaves behind her sister Juanita (John) Wilson; four 21
children John (Carolyn) Rasnick, Linda (Steve) Ratliff, David (Fredia) Rasnick, and 22
Peggy (Phi l) Justice; eight grandchildren, Kati Rasnick, Joseph (Kathryn) Rasnick, 23
Rachael (Tommy) Benz, Isaac Ratliff, Matthew (Kate) Rasnick, Stephanie Ratliff, Will 24
Rasnick, and Blake Justice; three great -grandchildren, Ann Ashby Rasnick, Harrison 25
Rasnick, and Ja ckson Benz. Also, left behind to miss her daily is her neighbor, nephew, 26
and "adopted son," John Michael Johnson, and the lovely ladies that helped walk her 27

home; and 1
WHEREAS, with great sadness, we acknowledge the passing of Bobbie Lou 2
Rasnick who will be remembered and tremendously missed by her family, friends, the 3
Pikeville community, and all those who were touched by her presence; 4
NOW, THEREFORE, 5
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 6
Kentucky: 7
Section 1. The Senate expresses its deepest sympathies upon the passing of 8
Bobbie Lou Rasnick and sends heartfelt thoughts and prayers to her family, friends, and 9
community throughout their healing journey. 10
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 11
memory of Bobbie Lou Rasnick. 12
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 13
Resolution to Senator Phillip Wheeler for delivery to the family. 14
