A RESOLUTION recognizing April 28th, 2026, as Pay It Forward Day. 1
WHEREAS, the objective of the "pay it forward" concept is to promote community 2
spirit through acts of kindness; and 3
WHEREAS, "pay it forward" is a worldwide effort supported by people in more 4
than 85 countries on six continents; and 5
WHEREAS, together, the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, its counties, 6
its cities, and the citizens of other sta tes and countries, can make a difference by creating 7
positive change in our cities, counties, states, countries, and world one deed at a time; 8
NOW, THEREFORE, 9
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 10
Kentucky: 11
Section 1. The Senate hereby recognizes April 28th, 2026, as Pay It Forward 12
Day. 13
Section 2. The Senate furthermore urges the citizens of the Commonwealth of 14
Kentucky to "pay it forward" when op portunity presents itself, knowing that such efforts 15
have manifold effects in promoting community spirit, creating positive change, and 16
improving the day -to-day lives of not only the citizens of this Commonwealth and the 17
United States of America, but also of the citizens of the world. 18
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 19
Resolution to Senator Rick Girdler. 20
