A RESOLUTION recognizing May 8, 2026, as Provider Appreciation Day in the 1
Commonwealth of Kentucky. 2
WHEREAS, Child Care Aware® of America and organizations nation wide are 3
recognizing child care providers on this day; and 4
WHEREAS, the child care system supports children's growth, development, and 5
educational advancement while creating positive economic impacts for families and 6
communities; and 7
WHEREAS, child care pr oviders are essential to the health of our communities by 8
fostering safe and welcoming spaces, supporting working families, and creating enriching 9
environments where children develop lifelong skills; and 10
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Kentucky recognizes tha t child care has been 11
and continues to be a lifeline for families, communities, and the economy; and 12
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Kentucky recognizes that our community 13
benefits from comprehensive, well -resourced Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) 14
organizations, such as Child Care Aware of Kentucky, Child Care Council of Kentucky, 15
and Family Child Care Network of Kentucky, which build the supply and quality of child 16
care and support child care providers through coaching, mentoring, and teaching 17
assistance; and 18
WHEREAS, support for affordable, accessible, high -quality child care represents a 19
worthy commitment to help families work, support children's healthy development and 20
learning, and keep our economy growing; 21
NOW, THEREFORE, 22
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 23
Kentucky: 24
Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby recognize May 8, 2026, as 25
Provider Appreciation Day in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and urge all citizens to 26
recognize child care providers for their important work and the value they bring to our 27
