A RESOLUTION recognizing and honoring the Legislative Research Commission 1
interns for the 2026 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly. 2
WHEREAS, the Kentu cky Legislative Research Commission (LRC) Intern 3
Program provides a unique opportunity for postsecondary students to gain an 4
understanding of legislative and public policy processes through active participation; and 5
WHEREAS, a limited number of students are chosen through a rigorous application 6
process to participate in the program, and the best and brightest students with a 7
demonstrated passion for understanding and learning about government are selected; and 8
WHEREAS, during the four months of study here a t the Capitol, the 2026 LRC 9
Intern Program participants are receiving instruction and participating in weekly seminars 10
and learning from guest speakers with special expertise in government, public 11
administration, and legislative matters; and 12
WHEREAS, while the students are learning and earning college credit for the 13
spring semester, they are also actively participating, engaging, and working as members 14
of the nonpartisan staff, providing a variety of services and tasks as required by their 15
assigned committees and offices; and 16
WHEREAS, the members of the 2026 Legislative Research Commission Intern 17
Program for the Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly are the following 18
esteemed undergraduate students: Allieelise Baird, Centre College; Taylor Bishop, 19
Morehead State University; Madison DeVore, University of Louisville; Rachael 20
Hammons, Campbellsville University; Elanor Johnson, University of Louisville; 21
Kennedy Little, Morehead State University; Martine Ngongo, University of Louisville; 22
KayLee Ollberdi ng, University of Louisville; Tyana Rasberry, Northern Kentucky 23
University; and Markus Stathers, Asbury University. These students have dutifully and 24
honorably served, and are worthy of recognition; 25
NOW, THEREFORE, 26
Be it resolved by the Senate of the Gener al Assembly of the Commonwealth of 27

Section 1. The Senate recognizes and honors the Legislative Research 2
Commission interns for demonstrating remarkable skill, knowledge, and dedication to 3
support Kentucky's legislature and assist in the complex tasks rendered by this agency 4
during the 2026 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly. 5
Section 2. The members of the prestigious 2026 Legislative Research 6
Commission Intern Program, composed of outstanding scholars hailing from some of the 7
finest colleges and uni versities in the Commonwealth, are commended for their 8
impressive contribution. The Senate extends to each student best wishes for every future 9
success. 10
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate shall transmit a copy of this Re solution to 11
Senator David Givens for delivery. 12
