A RESOLUTION honoring Ale-8-One on the occasion of its 100th anniversary. 1
WHEREAS, the Ale -8-One Bottling Company was established in 1902 by George 2
Lee Wainscott in Winchester, Kentucky; and 3
WHEREAS, in 1926, Wainscott released Ale -8-One, originally named "A Late 4
One," at the Clark County Fair; and 5
WHEREAS, Ale -8-One is one of the founding members of the Kentucky Proud 6
Program, which promotes Kentucky-grown and made products; and 7
WHEREAS, the Ale -8-One family includes 120 employees who work and live in 8
Winchester and the surrounding communities; and 9
WHEREAS, every bottle of Ale -8-One originates from small batches of the secret 10
family recipe, hand -blended by Fielding Rogers, the fourth generation family owner, 11
following his great-great-uncle’s handwritten notes; and 12
WHEREAS, Ale-8-One received the prestigious Bluegrass Steward Award in 2025, 13
in recognition of its stewardship in Kentucky, contribution to the Kentucky P roud 14
Program, and its support of their employees and the Winchester community; and 15
WHEREAS, as Ale -8-One celebrates its 100th anniversary, it remains family -16
owned and based in Winchester, Kentucky, and holds the distinction as the only soft 17
drink invented in Kentucky that continues to be made in Kentucky; 18
NOW, THEREFORE, 19
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 20
Kentucky: 21
Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby recognize and congratulate Ale-8-22
One on its 100th Anniversary and honor it for 100 years of growth and success. 23
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and 24
celebration of Ale-8-One. 25
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 26
Resolution to Senator Greg Elkins. 27
