WHEREAS, on January 10, 2026, Granville Reid, Jr. traversed these earthly bounds 3
at the age of 81; and 4
WHEREAS, Granville Reid, Jr. was born on July 22, 1944, in Manchester, 5
Kentucky, to Daisy and Granville Reid, Sr.; and 6
WHEREAS, Granville Reid, Jr. is survived by his loving wife, Aileen Smith Reid; 7
and his children, David Wayne R eid, Susan Reid (Troy) Fields, and Farrah Nichole 8
McIntosh; and was a cherished great-grandfather to Alexander McIntosh; and 9
WHEREAS, Granville Reid, Jr., is also survived by his sisters, Phyliss (Jennings) 10
Fields, Brenda Reid Crawford, and Sandra Reid; and 11
WHEREAS, Granville Reid, Jr. was preceded in death by his sons, Logan Ray 12
Marlow and Todd Tyron Marlow; his parents; and his brothers and sisters, Shirley Reid, 13
Bobby Reid, Kenneth Reid, Charles Reid, Peggy Marshall, Shelby Warren, and Leah 14
Fisher; and 15
WHEREAS, Granville Reid, Jr. was held as a cherished father, grandfather, and 16
mentor to so many children in Clay County, Kentucky, through his wife's babysitting 17
activities. Granville Reid Jr. and his wife Aileen had a profound impact on the lives of so 18
many children who were not their own but who they nevertheless loved and nurtured as if 19
they were; and 20
WHEREAS, Granville Reid, Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved 21
him, leaving a void that can never be filled; 22
NOW, THEREFORE, 23
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 24
Kentucky: 25
Section 1. The Senate hereby honors and remembers the life and legacy of 26
Granville Reid, Jr. upon his passing. 27
