A RESOLUTION recognizing and congratulating T. Gerard "Gerry" Bradley on his 1
appointment as president of the University of Louisville. 2
WHEREAS, T. Gerard "Gerry" Bradley received his bachelor's degree in dentistry 3
from University College Cork in his native country of Ireland. He earned his master's 4
degree in orthodontics from The Ohio State University and his doctorate in dentistry from 5
the University of Bern in Switzerland; and 6
WHEREAS, Gerry Bradley has dedicated many years to promoting excellence in 7
higher education, serving as chair and professor of developmental sciences at Marquette 8
University. During his time at Marquette, Bradley served as associate dean of research 9
and graduate studies; and 10
WHEREAS, Gerry Bradley joined the University of Louisville in 2016 as dean of 11
the School of Dentistry and later served as executive vice president for academic affairs 12
and university provost; and 13
WHEREAS, Gerry Bradley ha s achieved great success in each of his roles at the 14
University of Louisville and has been instrumental in improving the first -year student 15
retention rate, increasing overall enrollment, and designing and launching various 16
successful academic programs; and 17
WHEREAS, Gerry Bradley has stated, "My heart is at the University of Louisville," 18
and university officials say Bradley's leadership has strengthened the university's 19
foundation and its reach across the state; and 20
WHEREAS, on October 10, 2025, Gerry Bradle y was formally inaugurated as the 21
20th president of the University of Louisville; 22

Be it res olved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 24

Section 1. The Senate does hereby recognize and congratulate T. Gerard 26
"Gerry" Bradley on his appointment as president of the University of Louisville. 27
