WHEREAS, Garland A. Davis was born on August 28, 1945, in Casey County, 3
Kentucky, the son of the late Johnny Alton "Josh" Davis and Adele Hamm Davis; and 4
WHEREAS, Garland A. Davis was an active member of Green River Valley 5
Separate Baptist Church for more than five and a half decades, wherein he served many 6
roles including Deacon, so ng leader, Sunday school teacher, and steward of the church 7
and cemetery grounds; and 8
WHEREAS, Garland A. Davis engaged in an entrepreneurial life, at one time being 9
a barber for more than two decades, a school bus driver for the Casey County school 10
system for a decade, and the proprietor of his own business, Double "N" Jewelry; and 11
WHEREAS, Garland A. Davis was known for his love of classic cars, expressed 12
through his attendance of a myriad of car shows; and 13
WHEREAS, Garland A. Davis is survived by his lov ing wife, Nancy Bell Davis; 14
son, Casey (Christy) Davis; daughter, Chatty (Mark) Lee; grandchildren, Vance 15
(Morgan) Davis, Madison (Hunter) Cleary, Tanner (Danielle) Davis, Brookley (Tristan) 16
Elmore, and Laci (Lucas) Salyers; great -grandchildren, Audrey, Ja ck, Juniper, Elowyn, 17
Riley, Mason, and Malee; siblings, Randal Davis and Janice Eads; special sister -in-18
law/daughter, Nanette (Keith) Wright; special nephews/grandsons, Spencer (Kelsey) 19
Wright and Skyler (Colyn) Wright; special great -nieces and great -nephews, Emma Lou, 20
Maxwell, and Calloway; and a host of other family members, friends, and loved ones; 21
and 22
WHEREAS, Garland A. Davis was preceded in death by his son, Roderick Davis; 23
sister-in-law, Sue Davis; and brother-in-law, Robert Eads; and 24
WHEREAS, Garland A. Davis passed from this life on September 10, 2025; 25
NOW, THEREFORE, 26
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 27

Section 1. The Senate extends its sincere condolences to the family, friends, and 2
fellow community members of Garland A. Davis upon his passing. 3
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 4
memory of Garland A. Davis. 5
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 6
Resolution to Senator Jimmy Higdon and Senator Brandon Storm for delivery to the 7
family. 8
