A RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Samantha Shaver for her service as the current 1
president of the Kentucky Dental Association. 2
WHEREAS, Dr. Shaver has more than three decad es of service to organized 3
dentistry in Kentucky with leadership advancing oral health policy at the local, state, and 4
national levels; and 5
WHEREAS, Dr. Shaver has a longstanding commitment to mentorship, 6
professional ethics, and public service, including advocacy for patients, dentists, and 7
access to quality oral healthcare; and 8
WHEREAS, Dr. Shaver obtained a bachelor degree from Kentucky Wesleyan 9
College and a doctor of medicine in dentistry from the University of Louisville School of 10
Dentistry; and 11
WHEREAS, Dr. Shaver is a fellow at the Academy of General Dentistry, the 12
International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and the Pierre 13
Fauchard Academy; and 14
WHEREAS, Dr. Shaver is a current delegate of the American Dental Association, 15
president of the Kentucky Dental Association, and program coordinator of the Kentucky 16
Association of Women Dentists; and 17
WHEREAS, Dr. Shaver is a past president of the Louisville Dental Society and the 18
Kentucky Academy of General Dentistry, as well as a past trustee and regional director of 19
the Academy of General Dentistry; 20
NOW, THEREFORE, 21
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 22
Kentucky: 23
Section 1. The members of the Senate join Senator Julie Raque Adams in 24
honoring Dr. Samantha Shaver for her accomplished career and thanking her for her 25
service as the current president of the Kentucky Dental Association. 26
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate shall transmit a copy of this Resolution to 27
