A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Jack 1
Conley Morgan. 2
WHEREAS, Jack Conley Morgan was born on July 20, 1951, in Hoskinston, 3
Kentucky, the son of the late Sam and Ethel Morgan; and 4
WHEREAS, Jack Conley Morgan lived a life characterized by a strong work ethic 5
and commitment to his family and friends. Jack had a penchant for industry and hard 6
work, serving as owner and operator of Mountai n Logging and J & C Service Station, 7
and as a former coal mine owner and operator; and 8
WHEREAS, Jack Conley Morgan had a restless desire to better himself and his 9
world, which extended to his own education. After graduating from Leslie County High 10
School, Jack attended Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Benefiting from 11
the rewards of education, Jack would spend the rest of his life advocating the importance 12
of education; and 13
WHEREAS, Jack Conley Morgan had endless compassion and desire to help ot hers 14
which was exemplified by his founding and daily operation of the "Hope in the Hills" 15
organization that provided free food to thousands of his fellow Leslie County residents, 16
especially children. Jack never stopped giving back to the community that made him; and 17
WHEREAS, Jack Conley Morgan loved his family and enjoyed spending time with 18
his children and grandchildren, hunting and four -wheeling. His legacy will continue 19
through his family; and 20
WHEREAS, Jack Conley Morgan departed this earthly life on Dec ember 19, 2025. 21
He is survived by the mother of his children, Sandra Duff Morgan; his two loving 22
daughters, Jackie Morgan (Jeff) Johnson and Andrea (Tate) Begley; his two sisters, Judy 23
Rose Saylor and Carmolitta (Johnny) Pace; and his five grandchildren, J ared Johnson, 24
Josh Johnson, Jaelyn Johnson, Tatum Begley, and Will Begley. Jack was preceded in 25
death by his parents, Sam and Ethel Morgan; his sister Carolene (Herman) Coy; his 26
brother, J.B. (Shirley) Morgan; and his brother-in-law, James Saylor; 27

NOW, THEREFORE, 1
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 2
Kentucky: 3
Section 1. The Senate extends its sincere condolences to the family, friends, and 4
fellow community members of Jack Conley Morgan upon his passing. 5
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 6
memory of Jack Conley Morgan. 7
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 8
Resolution to Senator Brandon Smith for delivery to the family. 9
