WHEREAS, Norma June Evans was born on May 28, 1941, to Roscoe and Earsel 3
Penn in McCracken County, Kentucky; and 4
WHEREAS, Norma June Evans attended Draughon's Business College in 1959 and 5
graduated from Murray State University in 1972; and 6
WHEREAS, Norma June Evans worked as a speech therapist at McCracken County 7
Board of Education, wh ile also instructing classes in Adult Basic Education and 8
McCracken County's Summer Head Start Program; and 9
WHEREAS, Norma June Evans was very creative and artistic and enjoyed 10
decorating, drawing, painting, and sewing; and 11
WHEREAS, Norma June Evans also l oved gardening and handcrafted numerous 12
floral arrangements throughout the years for her beloved family members and friends; 13
and 14
WHEREAS, Norma June Evans had a deep appreciation for the small moments in 15
life, such as laughter and a morning cup of coffee, and she loved sharing those moments 16
with others; and 17
WHEREAS, Norma June Evans was survived by her four children, Patricia Adams, 18
Jill Reeves, David (Elizabeth) Reeves, and Priscilla (Mike) Ridenour; six grandchildren, 19
Andrew Adams, Eli (Alison) Reeves, Em ily (Ben) Sirk, Jackie (Jordan) Turner, Max 20
Thompson, and Sydney (Will) Puckett; four great-grandchildren, June and Heidi Sirk and 21
Avery and Emma Turner; one brother, Clifford (Sherri) Penn and one nephew Shawn 22
(Amy) Penn; and several great nieces and nephews; and 23
WHEREAS, Norma June Evans passed peacefully from this life on January 16, 24
2026, at home surrounded by family; 25
NOW, THEREFORE, 26
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 27

Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby express their most profound 2
sympathy upon the passing of Norma June Evans. 3
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 4
memory of Norma June Evans. 5
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 6
Resolution to Senator Danny Carroll for delivery to the family. 7
