WHEREAS, Jeremiah Parsons, of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, was born on July 1, 3
1984, to Rudy Parsons, Jr., and Alice Jacobs Parsons; and 4
WHEREAS, Jeremiah Parsons was the epitome of kindness; and 5
WHEREAS, Jeremiah Parsons left behind a legacy in both tourism and the arts in 6
his community; and 7
WHEREAS, Jeremiah Parsons was the executive dire ctor of Paintsville Tourism, 8
and his love for Paintsville and unwavering dedication to his community will never be 9
forgotten; and 10
WHEREAS, Jeremiah Parsons was the director of Main Street Players, where he 11
was dedicated to nurturing young performers and bu ilding a theatre community rooted in 12
creativity, confidence, and kindness; and 13
WHEREAS, Jeremiah Parsons encouraged young performers to find their voices, 14
and instill in them courage and love for the arts that will stay with them for a lifetime; 15
and 16
WHEREAS, Jeremiah Parsons poured his heart into serving Paintsville and 17
uplifting the people and places he cared so deeply about; and 18
WHEREAS, Jeremiah Parsons passed away on January 15, 2026, and he will be 19
missed by all who knew and loved him; and 20
WHEREAS, Jeremiah Parsons is survived by his brothers, Mickey Rudolph (Sarah) 21
Parsons, Andrew Parsons, Matthew (Glenda) Parsons, Joshua (Jes sica) Parsons, Thomas 22
Parsons, Nathaniel Lee Dye, and Shane Combs; Papaw and Mamaw, Eugene and Luveda 23
Jacobs; best friends, Ali Marie Meyer, Tyler Green, Rachel Crider, and Myssi Cope; and 24
a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family, and friends who will miss his presence in 25
their lives; 26

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 1
Kentucky: 2
Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby express their most profound 3
sympathy upon the passing of Jeremiah Parsons. 4
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 5
memory of Jeremiah Parsons. 6
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 7
Resolution to Senator Phillip Wheeler for delivery to the family. 8
