A RESOLUTION recognizing Terry Martin as the recipient of the 2026 Truck 1
Dealer of the Year Award from the American Truck Dealers Association. 2
WHEREAS, Terry Martin is a 35 -year veteran of the truck industry, starting in 3
1987 with his grandfather Bert Martin Sr.'s company, Martin's Truck Parts; and 4
WHEREAS, Terry Martin began his career working in many different positions 5
with the company, including in the company's warehouse and at the store's parts counter, 6
with his hard work and determination culminating in his being promoted to vice president 7
of Martin's Truck Parts in 2000; and 8
WHEREAS, after selling the company's badge to Peterbilt, Terry Martin would 9
soon build the company into a force in the trucking industry, with the company going 10
from a one store operation with 12 associates into 6 stores across Kentucky and West 11
Virginia with nearly 250 employees; and 12
WHEREAS, in recognition of his works and accomplishments with the company, 13
the American Truck Dealers Association named Terry Martin the 2026 Truck Dealer of 14
the Year at the association's annual meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, on February 5, 2026; 15
and 16
WHEREAS, because of the honor Terry Martin has brought to his company and his 17
native Laurel County, it is fitting to recognize this award; 18
NOW, THEREFORE, 19
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 20
Kentucky: 21
Section 1. The members of the Senate join Senator Brandon Storm in honoring 22
Terry Martin for being awarded the 2026 Truck Dealer of the Year award by the 23
American Truck Dealers Association, expressing their deepest gratitude and compliments 24
for his years of servi ce and hard work, and wishing him good fortune in all future 25
endeavors. 26
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate is direct to transmit a copy of this Resolution 27
