A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor of 2025 -2026 Kentucky 1
Optometric Association President Dr. Hannah Huffman. 2
WHEREAS, Dr. Hannah Huffman, a native of Midd lesboro, Kentucky, has been 3
practicing optometry since 2013. A proud graduate of the University of Kentucky with a 4
Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, she went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry 5
from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry; and 6
WHEREAS, Dr. Hannah Huffman provides comprehensive eye care for patients of 7
all ages at the offices of Dr. Mark Fields & Associates and VisionWorks, where she 8
practices full -scope optometric care by treating and managing patients with ocula r 9
diseases, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts; and 10
WHEREAS, on April 11, 2025, Dr. Hannah Huffman was sworn in as the President 11
of the Kentucky Optometric Association; and 12
WHEREAS, Dr. Hannah Huffman goes above and beyond in her field of study, 13
having served on the Kentucky Optometric Association Board of Trustees since 2018, 14
precepting 4th year optometry student externs, helping develop an Ocular Disease 15
residency program, and being a member of the American Optometric Association; and 16
WHEREAS, Dr. Hannah Huffman resides in Corbin, Kentucky, and loves 17
providing essential eye care to patients all across southeastern Kentucky. She believes in 18
giving every patient individualized care and has a genuine desire to form lasting 19
relationships with her patients; and 20
WHEREAS, this body honors Dr. Hannah Huffman on this day for her years of 21
service as an optometrist, and grants her best wishes as she continues to improve the lives 22
of her patients and community, and duly honors her husband, Palmer Yoakum; 23
NOW, THEREFORE, 24
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 25
Kentucky: 26
Section 1. The Senate hereby commends Dr. Hannah Huffman upon being 27

named the 2025 -2026 Kentucky Optometric Association President and grants her best 1
wishes as she continues to provide quality care to her patients in southeastern Kentucky. 2

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit this Resolution to 5
Senator Brandon Storm for delivery. 6
