STATE SYMBOL: Recognizes the mottled duck as the official state waterfowl
1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 49:170.26, relative to state symbols; to designate the mottled duck (Anas
3 fulvigula maculosa) as the official state waterfowl; and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. R.S. 49:170.26 is hereby enacted to read as follows:
6 §170.26. State waterfowl
7 There shall be an official state waterfowl. The official state waterfowl shall
8 be the mottled duck (Anas fulvigula maculosa). Its use on the official documents
9 of the state and with the insignia of the state is hereby authorized.
