SUCCESSIONS: Provides relative to succession proceedings
1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact Section 4 of Act 30 of the 2025 Regular Session, relative to effective
3 dates; to provide relative to retroactive application; and to provide for related
4 matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. Section 4 of Act 30 of the 2025 Regular Session is hereby amended and
7 reenacted to read as follows:
8 Section 4. The provisions of this Act shall apply both prospectively and
9 retroactively and shall be applied to all claims existing and pending on the effective
10 date of this Act and all claims arising or actions filed on and after the effective date
11 of this Act. The provisions of this Act shall not be applied to revive claims
12 prescribed as of the effective date of this Act or to affect claims adjudicated on the
13 merits by a final and definitive judgment prior to the effective date of this Act.
