PROPERTY/PUBLIC: Authorizes the transfer of certain state property in Natchitoches
Parish
1 AN ACT
2 To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the transfer
3 of certain state property in Natchitoches Parish; to provide for the property
4 description; to provide for the reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and
5 conditions; to provide an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. The president of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and
8 commissioner of administration, notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary,
9 are hereby authorized and empowered to convey, transfer, assign, lease or deliver any
10 interest, excluding mineral rights, the state may have in and to all or any portion of the
11 following described parcel of property to Brian Briggs:
12 Three parcels of land and the improvements thereon containing in the aggregate
13 approximately 1.16 acres, more or less, situated in Sections 40 and 43 of Township
14 9 North, Range 7 West, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, being the same property
15 inventoried as Louisiana State Land Office Site Code / Business Entity No.
16 7-35-017.
17 Section 2. The president of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and
18 the commissioner of administration are hereby authorized to enter into such agreements,
19 covenants, conditions, and stipulations and to execute such documents as necessary to
20 properly effectuate any conveyance, transfer, assignment, lease or delivery of title, excluding
21 mineral rights, to the property described in Section 1 of this Act, and as more specifically
22 described in any such agreements entered into and documents executed by and between the
23 president of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, the commissioner of
24 administration, and Brian Briggs, in exchange for appropriate consideration sufficient to
25 satisfy the provisions of Article VII, Section 14(A) of the Constitution of Louisiana.

1 Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
2 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
3 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
4 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
5 effective on the day following such approval.
