1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 17:350.21(A)(1), relative to the funding of laboratory schools;
3 to provide for the funding of a school operated by any institution under the
4 supervision and management of the Board of Supervisors for the University of
5 Louisiana System through the minimum foundation program; to provide for the
6 allocation of funds to the board for the operation of the school; to provide relative
7 to applicability; and to provide for related matters.
8 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1. R.S. 17:350.21(A)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
10 §350.21. University laboratory schools operated by certain public universities;
11 funding formula
12 A.(1)(a) Any elementary or secondary school operated by Louisiana State
13 University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, Southern University and
14 Agricultural and Mechanical College, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, or the
15 University of Louisiana at Monroe shall be considered a public elementary or
16 secondary school and, as such, shall be annually appropriated funds as determined
17 by applying the formula as specified in Subsection B of this Section.
18 (b) In addition to the schools provided for in Subparagraph (a) of this
19 Paragraph, any elementary or secondary school established on or after August 1,
20 2026, and operated by an institution under the supervision and management of the
